Who Are You Cheering Loudest For? Yourself or Everyone Else?

March has always been one of my favorite sport’s months, because of March Madness, the NCAA college basketball championship tournament!
At the start of the tournament, on Thursday morning, sixty-four teams have hopes of being the National Champions.

By Sunday evening only sixteen teams are left.

That’s a lot of basketball to play in four days.

Having been a former college basketball player, I could make this entire post about the tournament, but instead I want to focus on you.

Over the weekend, while watching some of these games, it occurred to me that a lot of people make sports their number one priority.

I have a problem with that…

Why do some of us cheer harder for a team of men/women playing a game, that we don’t personally know, than we do for ourselves?

We get scared, stressed and excited through almost every minute of a basketball game, but are we even remotely that engaged, for one hour, of one day, in our own lives?

Why is it that we are so willing to risk feeling the pain of loss and upset for our sport’s team, so we can celebrate the glory of a win; yet we avoid anything that resembles the possibility of pain, loss and upset in our lives?
…even when there’s a clear upside or win available.

A basketball player has a very transparent set of goals and dreams.

  1. The goal is to win.
  2. The dream is to win by hitting the final game winning shot at the buzzer.

The goal is so clear it’s easy for us to get enrolled in a position to either ‘boo’ or cheer.
If the dream materializes we all know.
The dream is that clear.

Goal
At a big game people yell, cheer and scream. Why don’t we do the same for our goals and dreams?

What about your goal in life?

  1. Is it clear?
  2. Is it transparent?

If your dream materialized, how would we know?
Are you being transparent about your goals and dreams?
Are you hesitant to share your goals and dreams with the world?

Sure…you’ll get a few ‘boos’ (who doesn’t), but you’ll get some cheers too!

Maybe you can start today by sharing that goal or dream here in a comment!

At a big game people yell, cheer and scream.
Why don’t we do the same for our goals and dreams?

Are you as serious about your life and prosperity, as you are about March Madness and your fantasy sports teams?

If the answer is no; make a powerful choice to change.
If the answer is yes; have you shared your goals and dreams so that others can cheer you on?

Ultimately,  there’s nothing wrong with screaming, yelling and cheering for your favorite team; just as long as you’re screaming, yelling and cheering for yourself too!

Cheer for you!
Be powerful!
Be focused on your goals, and stay inspired; it’s a lifestyle choice!
