Inspired?

I have two questions.

  1. How do you get inspired?
  2. How do you  stay inspired?

Do you know?  If so share it with me. (Leave a comment…I can never know enough about receiving inspiration.)

If you don’t know, have you thought about the implications that a lack of inspiration can have on your will to get things done?

I ask this because inspiration is the water that facilitates the feeding and nurturing of the roots attached to will.

Now I’m not talking about will as a verb, nor am I talking about Will Smith.  I’m talking about will as a noun.  Better yet to be specific the fifth definition (dictionary.com) of the word will as a noun.

will – noun
5. purpose or determination, often hearty or stubborn determination; willfulness

That’s the kinda will that can’t be given, taught or bought.  It has to already be there, just waiting to get watered so it can grow, get strong and get things done!

We all have it somewhere in our spirits. Some of us just find it sooner, listen to it, exercise it, and feed it more than those around us.

My question for reflection this week is:

  • What are you going to do to nourish your will?

Inspiration doesn’t just show up and fill our spirit and feed our will because that’s the way we want it to be.
Inspiration doesn’t always just appear when we need it, because it (inspiration) knows we’re in need of it.
Inspiration is something we must seek…
Inspiration has to be sought…
Inspiration must be found.

Inspiration can be found in the words of our friends, family, colleagues, and leaders.
Inspiration can be found in the form of prose, poems and books.
Inspiration can be found in music.
Inspiration can be found in the words of a song.
Inspiration can be found in the drama of the cinema.

Inspiration is all around us and we should seek it proactively, so we can draw from its energy when we need it most to feed our will.

So again…
How do you get inspired?
How do you stay inspired?

Be sure to take the time to answer these questions.

If you remain uninspired then your will is going to be weak.

…and nothing great can be done with a weak will.

So stay inspired, it’s a lifestyle choice!

  1. I stay inspired by websites / blogs like your own. I’m inspired by everything around me, food, music, fashion, creativity and mentality. I stay inspired by writing down my inspirations and read them over again so I won’t forget. I’m trying to share them with others, so they might get inspired as well. 🙂

“Inspiration is all around us”, this is true.. Each of us have specific things that inspire us, the sooner we figure out what they are, the quicker we will understand the essentials we need around us to assist in the alignment to our destiny. One quote that I always loved is “thoughts become words, words become actions, actions become habits, your habits will form your destiny”. Two important elements that can be controlled: thoughts and words. Not every thought that comes to mind should be festered and not every word should be spoken or digested. The bible says, “Life and death is in the power of the tongue” Prov 18:21 and “The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit” Prov 15:4. You were spot on with where inspiration can come from – and can be more personally effective if drawn from the right sources pertaining to the will designed for each individual. The one thing that I would add is God is a major component in understanding that passion and raw determination that individually lies in each of us.. Afterall, he is our creator who better to pull from than the source itself 🙂 Following the light that God shines on the sources around us, we can be directed to what we’ve been born to crave: our destiny!
