In today’s very connected world, great service is more important than ever. It’s crucial to our livelihoods and the organizations we have the opportunity to represent.
I say this because I’m about to send this note to American Airlines due to the very poor service I’m receiving at this moment 30,000 feet in the air (btw…I’m in First Class) on flight AA 593. Anyone who knows me personally can attest to my patience and optimism during most situations, but the lack of service and rude behavior I’ve experienced thus far is just simply inexcusable.
Now here’s the deal…
I know we all have bad days…
I know we have sleepless nights that can leave us drained and exhausted the next day…
I know life can sometimes kick us in the shins and make us wanna shout, “Uncle!”
But…we can’t!
Bringing my best everyday is a critical imperative…
Bringing your best everyday is a critical imperative for you too!
In a world where most planes now have WiFi,
In a world where information is shared at the blink of an eye,
In a world where a YouTube video can get 4 million hits in two days,
In a world where tonight’s light hearted news story can be about how you decided not to do your job earlier that day…
…none of us can afford to bring anything but our very best.
Our brand and the brand of the companies we represent is otherwise at stake.
So even if you’re running on vapors,
Even if the world is on your shoulders,
Even if the challenges of life seemed stacked in unison against you…
If you punch the clock…
You’ve gotta bring your best!
It’s our critical imperative…
Because one bad day can paint our brands for a long time…and if for nothing else…that’s a reason we all should care!
