What do you REALLY want?

Are all your wants and desires written down?
Do you know your life’s goals so well you can repeat them from memory?

Do you have your dreams and aspirations displayed on a vision board or storyboard that you can see everyday?

If the answer is no, I regret to inform you that you’re probably living someone else’s plan for your life.

Don’t believe me?

Tell me what comes to mind when you read the following statements:

    • Just do it
    • Melts in your mouth, not in your hands
    • Great taste…less filling
    • What’s in your wallet?

If you’ve been properly programmed by American marketing giants, the following four brands came to your mind respectively:

    • Nike
    • M&M’s chocolate candy
    • Miller Lite
    • Capital One

9 out of 10 of you will match all of these correctly in your minds without even blinking…directly from memory.
…and just that quick I’ve added additional influence and persuasion towards what you should wear, eat and drink.

Why can’t we repeat our life’s purpose and personal goals the same way?
Why haven’t we taken the time to design our own storyboards?

Whether we do or don’t, we’re given a storyboard everyday.
This storyboard pops up in the internet ads on the right side of our computer screens.
This storyboard pops up on the television commercials we see during our favorite programs.

This storyboard plays on the billboards we pass as we commute to and from work.
Did you know if you watched a 30 minute sitcom you probably also watched approximately 30, 30 second commercials?

A few weeks ago I was craving Taco Bell’s new Doritos Locos Taco…crazy thing is…I had never had one.  Why would I crave something I’ve never even tasted?

Hmmm…

On the interstate I use to drive to and from work there are 86 billboards in a 9 mile stretch.  That’s basically 1 billboard for every 10th of a mile.

They are telling us what to want and do…
They are spending approximately 200 billion dollars a year to find us and tell us what to want and do.

Unless we’re very clear, deliberate and detailed about what we really WANT to do, we will all be doing exactly what they tell us to want and do.

Don’t you think it’s time we fought back and took more control of our own lives?

I do!

If you do too…take a crack at writing down one thing you want to accomplish in your life.
Then post it where you can see it everyday.
…and please don’t procrastinate…just do it…LOL!

Stay inspired, it’s a lifestyle choice!
